A Southern Classic!
Heat ½ inch
of shortening or oil in a heavy gauge skillet over a medium
high setting. Cut tomatoes into ¼ inch slices. Dip into
beaten egg, covering both sides well, then coat generously
with dry batter mix. Fry until golden, turning once. Drain
over paper toweling and serve hot with
Brands’ Blossom Sauce on the side.
can be substituted with: Mushrooms, Zucchini and Summer
Squash, or Okra
