Straight Razors by Boker Knives

Since the beginning of the Boker manufacturing plant in 1869, high quality straight razors were produced in Solingen, Germany. At that time, we were already focused on the usage of nothing less than the best in materials, and it was of the utmost importance to maintain the highest production standards available. With that background, the success came quickly, and this gave Boker straight razors an impeccable international reputation.

After World War II, the manufacturing of straight razors gradually came to a stop. Today, an original Boker catalog from 1906 is the oldest document in our archives about the razor blade product line of that time. More than 100 years later, a new lineup is being manufactured in Solingen, reviving the old tradition. Through 170 individual production steps, the new and exclusive Boker straight razors are created. A guarantor for the highest quality is the successful "finger nail test." Only the edge of a perfectly ground blade can be visibly bent on your thumbnail and returns immediately to its original shape when released. Cheap blades are too thick to do this, and for that reason they are referred to as "axes" by the experts.

Damascus Straight Razors Boker Knife

BOKER DAMASCUS STRAIGHT RAZOR. The long tradition of high class Damascus knives is continued with the new edition of straight razors. At the same time, we are setting a new technical standard. Thus far, almost no one has dared to produce a Damascus straight razor with more than 180 layers. In the standard forging process, there is a great risk that different layers of steel are exposed at the very fine edge of the blade, thus creating a "micro saw" on the cutting edge. Our Damascus forgers have solved this problem and are forging the Boker Damascus blades with more than 300 layers of high quality carbon steels. The layers in the center are paralleled for a precisely built cutting edge, which gives a perfect shaving result. The blade steel guarantees a very high hardness without the danger of chipping. The handle scales are the original Boker handles from the 1930’s. It is a special synthetic material with an ivory structure, which is both flexible and waterproof. The classic Boker Tree logo inlay adorns the handle. The Boker Damascus straight razor is limited to just 500 pieces worldwide. Delivered with maintenance instructions and a certificate of authenticity in a wooden collectors case. Blade size: 5/8".

King Cutter Straight Razors Boker Knife

KING CUTTER. Same as model 140501 (above), but with the popular "Spanish point." The so called tapered hollow point of this blade can only be ground by highly experienced experts. Blade size: 5/8".

Extra Hollow Ground Straight Razors Boker Knife

EXTRA HOLLOW GROUND. Large straight razor featuring the universal blade size of ¾". The specially hollow ground carbon steel blade provides for outstanding sharpness and cutting capabilities. Only a handful of experts are able to create this special grinding in combination with the "round point" of the blade. The handles are made of a water-resistant synthetic material in an ivory structure, and feature the historical Boker tree inlay. Serial numbered. Includes a certificate of authenticity and manual, in historical packaging.

Leather Strap for Straight Razors by Böker Knife

LEATHER STROP. A high quality leather strop, made of a very dense yet flexible Russian leather (Juchtenleder). A slate plate is mounted on the back for the flawless re-sharpening of any straight razor. Also features a flexible wooden base. Dimensions (leather strop/slate): 1 5/8" x 15 ¾" x 1 ¼". Total length: 12 ½". Includes a traditional slipcase. Made in Germany.
